AN ONGOING SERIES

Art inspiring Art

The Dog Breed Series was inspired by the vintage bird-dog etchings that hung around my house growing up. I started drawing different breeds in that same detailed style, then screen printing each one by hand in my Brooklyn studio.

Did you know?!

Black Labs were trained to have a "soft mouth," allowing them to carry things in their mouths without causing damage. Originally bred to retrieve game without harming it, Labrador Retrievers are known for their love of fetch, which is exactly what this print captures with a ball in their mouth.
