The Story Behind The Series
I grew up surrounded by dog books and art in my parents' house and remember spending hours trying to copy the dog drawings as a kid. My parents also used to take me to dog shows, and loved digging through booths looking for something that looked like our dogs. That feeling of searching for your own dog sparked the idea for this series.
From my dog to yours
The first ones I did were based on the dogs I grew up with, Kate the English Setter and George the Basset. From there, I started illustrating popular breeds and taking requests at art shows. There's always another breed or mix to add!
Every dog starts with a pencil sketch
I scan the sketch into Photoshop and use it as a blueprint to draw the final linework by hand digitally on a Cintiq. The screen prints are all pulled in house by me, while stickers and tees are produced with the help of trusted print partners.
Bred with Personality
I try to capture more than just a static pose, I want the personality too. Each illustration pulls from breed history, traits, and quirks to show what makes that dog special.
Did you know that Labs are exceptional swimmers, originally bred to retrieve fishing nets and game from the water?
Did you know German Shepherds were the first seeing-eye dogs, thanks to their intelligence and loyalty?
Did you know Welsh legend says Corgis were the chosen steeds of fairies and elves?
Did you know Greyhounds can reach speeds up to 45 mph, making them the fastest dog breed?
Spot your breed?
If your pup’s already part of the pack, I’d love to see it! Feel free to tag me in a photo of your dog with their matching breed print, tee, or sticker. It's always awesome seeing these in their new homes!
Missing Mutt?
Didn’t spot your breed? Let me know! There's a whole lot of pups out there, but this is a growing series, and I’m always adding new ones. Your request might just be next on the list.
