I grew up surrounded by dog books and art in my parents' house and remember spending hours trying to copy the dog drawings as a kid. My parents also used to take me to dog shows, and loved digging through booths looking for something that looked like our dogs. That feeling of searching for your own dog sparked the idea for this series.

The first ones I did were based on the dogs I grew up with, Kate the English Setter and George the Basset. From there, I started illustrating popular breeds and taking requests at art shows. There's always another breed or mix to add!
