The Irish Setter was bred in the 1800s to help hunters locate birds in… you guessed it, Ireland. The setter would assist the hunter by “setting” down on their belly low near the birds so that the hunters could walk up and throw a net over the bird and dog. Once firearms were introduced, the breed was developed into a gun dog that pointed, flushed and hunted in an upright stance.

8.5” x 11” open edition screen-print, black ink on speckle tone off white paper, hand printed and signed by the artist.
