The Corgi was introduced in the 1100’s when Henry I invited Flemish craftsmen to relocate and live in southwestern Wales. They brought these short-legged dogs to herd livestock. According to Welsh legend, Corgis are used by elves and fairies to pull carts and ride during battle. It is thought that the dark markings on the top of their coat are outlines of the fairies’ saddles and harnesses.

8.5” x 11” open edition screen-print, black ink on speckle tone off white paper, hand printed and signed by the artist.
