Bulldogs get their name for their unfortunate use in bullbating in 13th Century England. A lot of their unusual traits were bred because of this blood sport, like their short snouts allowing them to breathe properly while biting down on something, and smaller back legs for stability when getting shook around. Thankfully bullbating became illegal in 1835 and admirers of the breed transformed the tough fighters into the loving companions they are today. Now that we got that gruesome history out of the way, let's talk about how good they are at skateboarding. Tilman the bulldog is the fastest skateboarding dog, completing a 100 meter course in 19.7 seconds and Otto of Peru holds the "longest human tunnel" record, passing through the legs of 30 people!

8.5” x 11” open edition screen-print, black ink on speckle tone off white paper, hand printed and signed by the artist.
